GAME #16
VS OURIMBAH (WON 3-0)
July 29, 2018

Although the girls dominated the possession in the first half and had several chances from corners as well as shots from Jade, Caddie and Emma Burdack, they were unable to make them count. The game remained scoreless until Jade took yet another corner which Caitlin somehow managed to head into the goal to finally take the lead.

The girls continued to have plenty of chances early in the second half. As the game progressed Ourimbah started to have a few chances of their own, but our defence was able to keep them out. Emma Burdack did well in goals and pulled off a lovely save to keep the lead.

Soon after another corner in from Jade was headed in by Bec to make it 2 nil and give the girls some breathing space. Then a lovely ball from Ellie found Jade, who took the ball forward and passed to Caitlin for a tap in to seal the win.

GAME #15
VS TERRIGAL 1 (WON 4-3)
July 22, 2018

There were plenty of goals today with Terrigal taking an early lead when they were able to beat our defence. The girls had a few chances to equalise including a free kick taken by Amy just outside the penalty box, but unfortunately it was too high. The equaliser finally came when a cross from Caddie was headed in Jade making it 1 all at half time.

The second half didn’t start well with Terrigal scoring 2 quick goals to make it 3-1. The girls had to regroup and soon Jessi was able to get a head on a cross in from Jade to bring it back to 3-2. They were gaining some momentum now and Amanda crossed in a ball which Caitlin volleyed in to make it 3 all. Wyoming earned a corner which Jade took, it ended back out with her and when she sent it in again Shannon was there to score and Wyoming took the lead for the first time in the game. Just as full time approached Terrigal were awarded a free kick and nearly scored, but Jessi was able to clear the ball. The game ended with a 4-3 win.

Thanks to Kelly, Sandy and Sophie from WAA2 for helping again today.

GAME #14
VS TERRIGAL 2 (WON 1-0)
July 15, 2018

The game started well with Jessi having a shot which went on off the post to give the girls an early lead. Soon after Caitlin was fouled and won a free kick just outside the penalty box which Jessi took. Both Amy and Jade had a go at goal from the free kick, but the keeper was able to save both attempts.

The girls controlled the first half with some lovely passing but they were just unable to find another goal. Cailah made a great save just before half time to keep the girls in the lead.

The second half was more even as Terrigal started to come into the game with both teams having a few chances, but both teams also defending well. For the second week in a row Nat made a goal saving clearance late in the game after the attacker was able to get past the keeper.

Unfortunately the girls were not able to score again and the game ended with a 1 nil win.

Thanks to Sandy and Kelly from WAA2 for helping today.

GAME #13
VS THE ENTRANCE (LOST 2-3)
July 8, 2018

After early chances to Cadina and Jessi, The Entrance were able to slip through Wyoming’s defence and score to take an early lead. The girls fought back with some further chances but were unable to get an equaliser. The breakthrough finally came when Amanda sent in a lovely cross / shot that ended up in the top corner.

The Entrance were making plenty of chances themselves, with Kim making some effective interventions including one impressive diving save. However, The Entrance were soon back in front with an overhead kick that went in. Wyoming were back level just before half time when their keeper came out, and despite getting back, was not able stop Cadina scoring.

The Entrance started the second half strong, and when Kim came out The Entrance were able to get past her, but not Nat who cleared the ball saving a certain goal. A free kick to Wyoming in the middle of the ground saw Jade able to get in behind to have a shot, but their keeper made a great save.

Cailah had to step into goals when Kim went down injured, and unfortunately The Entrance were able to take the lead again. Despite having a few chances to equalise again, it just wasn’t falling for the girls today, and they ran out of time. The game finished with a 3-2 loss.

GAME #12
VS TOUKLEY (LOST 0-2)
July 1, 2018

The girls new it was going to be a tough game today and Toukley were on top right from the start, but the defence stood strong, with Bec making some superb saves. Half way through the first half Toukley had a free kick from just outside the penalty area. Bec was able to get to it, but unfortunately the ball fell out of her hands and Toukley were able to score.

Wyoming were able to get the ball down the attacking end and were given a free kick in a similar area. Jessi had a lovely shot, but their keeper was able to save it.

In the second half Toukley had plenty more chances, but the defence and Bec were doing their best to keep them out. Again, Bec made some important saves to keep the score at 1 nil.

Despite have 2 players sent off late in the 2nd half Toukley were just too good and managed to score another. The girls all gave 100% today despite the loss.

Thanks to Sophie and Alyse from WAA2 for helping today.

GAME #11
VS BERKELEY VALE (WON 2-0)
June 24, 2018

The game started with two early goals from set pieces. Shannon scored a header from a corner and soon after Cadina was able to score from a free kick sent in by Emma Burdack.

There were a few other chances in the first half with Emma Barry having a real opportunity up close, but just missed. Caillah also had a great chance just before half time but again it just missed.

Unfortunately, early in the second half Emma Burdack injured her ankle and the game was stopped while she received treatment. The game was able to be re-started with less than 20 minutes to go but the game lost its intensity with the injury to Emma. Wyoming did have a few chances toward the end with Jade shooting a couple just wide and Sophie sending one straight to the keeper. The game ended with a 2 nil win. We hope Emma a speedy recovery. Thanks to Sophie and Kelly from WAA2 for helping today.

GAME #10
VS KARIONG (WON 2-1)
June 17, 2018

The game started a bit slow with both teams initially struggling with the windy conditions. After the first 10 minutes , the girls started to a get in a few shots on goal. Cadina, Bec and Shannon all had decent chances, but these were either saved or just wide. Jade had a chance with a free kick just outside the box, but it went just over. Not long after Jade had another great chance, but Kariong’s keeper was able to jump to make a great save.

The second half didn’t start well. Kim had made a save but was kicked in the knee and dropped the ball and Kariong were able to capitalise and score. As the half progressed the girls started to get on top. Jade was able to equalise with a scramble in front of goal. Luck was also to play a part when the wind carried a cross from Amanda into the goal. As the girls were just starting to gain some momentum a Kariong player seriously injured her knee, and the game ended with a 2 – 1 win.

GAME #8
VS OURIMBAH (WON 5-2)
May 27, 2018

The game started with Wyoming having most of the possession and playing mainly in Ourimbah’s half. Rachel had a shot which deflected into keeper’s arms. Soon after one of Ourimbah’s faster players took the ball through and opened the scoring when the ball slipped through Caitlin’s hands.

The girls regrouped and eventually a shot from Rachel was able to get past the keeper making it 1 all. The girls continued to attack during the first half and Cadina had a chance at an open goal when the keeper came out but was just wide. Then both Bec and Shannon scored headed goals in quick succession making the score 3-1 at half time.

Early in the second half, for the 3rd week in a row, Wyoming was awarded a penalty after Jade was brought down in the box. Rachel once again took the penalty and scored. But not long after Ourimbah hit back with a well taken shot. The girls were persistent in to attack with Cadina and Jade having a few of one on one’s with the keeper and eventually Cadina was finally able to score with a shot low and wide of the keeper. Kim was in goals for the second half and was called into action a few of times and made some great saves to keep the score at 5-2.

GAME #7
VS TERRIGAL 1 (WON 1-0)
May 20, 2018

The game started well today with 3 early chances that were just wide of the goal. Then Terrigal started to get on top and Wyoming spent most of first half defending, which they did rather well. Terrigal had a few shots, but they were just off target. Cailah was able to push one shot away, but it went straight into the path of a Terrigal play. Luckily Emma Burdack was able to get there in time to clear it. The girls did have a few chances later in the half with shots from Bec, Jade and Jessi all saved by their keeper.

Not long into the second half Rachel had a shot but it went over. Terrigal continued to attack but were not able to score. With 10 minutes to go Wyoming earned a penalty for a hand ball, which was calmly taken by Rachel to make it 1 nil. The girls were able to fight hard for the next 10 minutes to keep the lead.

It was a tough game today as we only had 1 sub, and when Emma Barry had to come off injured there were no subs. A special thanks to Sandy from WAA2 who helped out today.

GAME #6
VS THE ENTRANCE (WON 4-2)
May 13, 2018

It was a cold and windy afternoon and the girls looked good in their pink strip to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Cailah started the game off with 2 quick goals over the keepers head. The Entrance then started to come into the game and Jessi, who was in goals today, was called into action and was able to save a shot on target. Just before half time The Entrance earned a penalty which was saved by Jessi.

About 10 minutes into the second half The Entrance were able to get a goal making the score 2-1. 5 minutes later Jade scored to give the girls back their 2-goal lead. The Entrance go stronger as the half progressed, and Jessi was able to make some crucial saves. Unfortunately, one did past her making it 3-2. The girls continued to push forward and when Shannon was pulled down in the box late in the game and Wyoming was awarded a penalty, which Rachel was able to convert. The game finished 4-2.

GAME #4
VS BERKELEY VALE (WON 4-0)
April 29, 2018

A great game today from the girls with plenty of chances. An early goal from Cailah getting the girls off to a good start. Cailah had another chance a few minutes later, but her header was just a touch too high. The second goal came from a header from Shannon in the 13th minute.

Berkeley Vale’s chances were few and far between with Kim, who was playing in goals today, lucky just to get a couple of touches of the ball.

With half time approaching, Cadina made a great run from the backs and placed a nice ball in, which Jessi back heeled into the net giving the girls a 3-Nil lead at half time.

In 3rd minute of the 2nd half Rachel chased down the ball and scored making it 4-nil. The game unfortunately was stopped 5 minutes into the 2nd half with a serious injury to a Berkeley player, and ended with a 4-nil win.

GAME #3
VS KARIONG (WON 1-0)
April 22, 2018

A frustrating game with the tigers having the majority of the possession and the majority of game being played in our attacking half, but the girls were just unable to score.

Kariong only had 2 shots on goal all game including a free kick which was neatly saved by Ellie.

In contrast Wyoming had at least 20 shots on goal, but a combination of desperate defending from Kariong and missed chances from Wyoming including a few which hit the post. The game was still locked at nil all with the end of the game nearing. It took a lovely taken shot from outside the box from Emma Burdack with about a minute to spare to seal the 3 points.
