Date: Monday 19 February 2023 and Monday 26 February 2024

Location: Alan Davidson Oval, Renwick Street, Wyoming

Time: From 4pm (check your timeslots)

IMPORTANT NOTE: No toilets and lights – the venue will not be ‘handed across’ so to speak to the football club until late March/early April, hence the club are yet to receive full access to the venue’s facilities. Please bear that in mind. Nearby Wyoming shops and The Grange both have toilets.

Time: 4pm-445pm Under 5s - Under 7s

What’s it about? At the Mini Roo beginner level these Grouping sessions will purely be about grouping players with friends who wish to play in mixed teams (boys and girls.) If your team is already ‘staying together’ from an established team in Under 5s or Under 6s at the club in 2023 and have already agreed to do so you do not need to attend but are still welcome to do so.

We will have the fields set-up like game day and some cadet refs plus club officials to help with the kids having a kick if they wish.

These teams are not graded and will be grouped based on friendship/school-mate requests where possible.

445pm-530pm Anyone wishing to play in a Girls only team

What’s it about? Any female player wishing to play in a Girls only team from Under 5s to Under 11s.

We will have the fields set-up like game day and some cadet refs plus club officials to help with the kids having a kick if they wish in the younger age groups.

There may be some grading of players in the higher age groups (eg 9s/10s/11s but this is dependent upon the number of registrations.)

530pm- 615pm Under 8s-Under 9s

What’s it about? Any player wishing to play in a mixed team in Under 8s or Under 9s and wants to be considered for grading into an Advanced side. At the Under 8s and upwards ages there are beginner, intermediate and advanced gradings (A,B,C,D etc) and teams are graded accordingly.
Those teams who wish to stay together from the prior season, for example in a lower graded side, can make these requests prior to the session and do not need to attend the session if the team wishes to stay together.

However, some players may wish to challenge themselves and attend the grading to endeavour to be placed in a higher grade and this Grouping/Grading Day is for those players across Under 8s-Under 11s ONLY.

615pm- 715pm Under 10s-Under 11s

What’s it about? Any player wishing to play in a mixed team in Under 10s or Under 11s and wants to be considered for grading into an Advanced side (A grade). At the Under 8s and upwards ages there are beginner, intermediate and advanced gradings and teams are graded accordingly. (A,B,C,D etc)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I haven’t registered my child to play this season, can they still attend?

We ask all players to be registered prior to grouping/grading day. All payments due March 10

Non-registered players attending Grouping/Grading Days will take on any insurance risk and are not covered should an injury occur. Attending a Grouping/Grading Day, whilst NOT registered, does not mean a player will be placed in a team. The club has various deadlines to meet, and players not registered prior to the Grouping/Grading Days risk not getting a spot should teams fill up.

I registered my child, but I’m new to the club do I need to do anything else?

Yes, possibly.

All new players will have to have a birth certificate sighted by a member of the Committee and you will need to ensure the photo is ‘passport style’ (sorry no pictures of pets or wearing face-paint / hats or sunglasses). Registrations, even fully paid-up ones, CANNOT be approved until those two aspects are correct. Please email a birth certificate / head shot photo to our Registrar Mel – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , she can help. All birth certificates email will be sighted & then deleted for security / privacy purposes.

I registered my child, but they are unable to attend either session.

No problem. If you are a previous player the Grading Committee will take into account, your prior team and all players will be placed in a side for the trials in March. Just because you miss the Grouping/Grading Day it doesn’t mean you will not be allocated a team but we encourage all those seeking a spot in advanced teams to trial.

My child’s team all want to stay together from last year, do we need to attend the Grouping/Grading Day still?

No. Any players wishing to stay together can do so – you just need to ensure you have contacted your age group representative via email or WhatsApp and have the agreement from all the relevant parents/carers from the team eg via email or notes made during player registration.

Some players from teams who have been together for a few years in 5s,6s and 7s, may choose to attend the sessions and may be graded into those Advanced sides. In this case, we will manage player movements accordingly.

Will my child need boots and shin pads for the sessions?

Yes. Player safety is paramount. Participants can’t take part in the sessions without the required equipment.

When do the Coast Kick packs arrive?

For 5s-7s players the arrival details for the packs are yet to be announced. This initiative is coordinated by Central Coast Football, our overarching body and we will publicise when they are available. The club has no control over the when the packs will arrive.

Note all NEW players to club will also receive a drawstring backpack with Tigers logo (U5 to U11) or a premium Bootbag with club logo & name section (U12 +) These are available for collection once registration has been fully paid at our gear collection days as advertised in our season guide

Finally, a request – Last year the club had over 55 teams across the board, 35 of those were in the 5s-11s age bracket. That means a lot of players (about 300.) The Grading Committee will do their best in grading the players before releasing ‘provisional teams’ and ‘final teams’. Changes are never as simple as they seem e.g. ‘one in and one out’. The club’s aim is to, not only, ensure all players are placed in a team, that will result in a memorable experience throughout the season, but also enable individuals to learn, further develop their skills and grow in the game.

On a final note, please be mindful that the Grading Committee, as with the rest of the club committee, are volunteers and doing this work alongside our personal lives plus work commitments. Our aim is that your child has an enjoyable experience throughout the season and all decisions made by the committee are in the best interests of the child and the club in the forefront.
