GAME #5

VS TERRIGAL 3 (LOST 1-4)
May 6, 2017

Wyoming U9B1 went up against Terrigal today, and the usual the result, 4-1 to them. Baxter had never played football before this season. I asked him to go goalkeeper in the first half, after 15 minutes, you would have thought that he was a pro, diving and saving a number of Terrigal’s opportunities. Unfortunately minutes before half time, the flood gates open, 3 quick goals and Wyoming were on the back foot. After the break Gabriel came into goals another first time, and we managed to have a 1 all half, with a pleasing result that my team didn’t fade out, as they have done in the past matches. It was an all round effect from my team, with combinations starting to happen.

GAME #2

VS EAST GOSFORD (LOST 1-2)
April 8, 2017

Wyoming B1 went up against East Gosford this week, 2 players down (school holidays) and 1 sub on the bench, this was a fast paced game, end to end entertaining stuff.

Well Wyoming managed to score first through Malakhi, a well organised attack mid way through the first half. Some good combinations are starting to develop amongst the players, well at least each player can now remember their fellow players names. East Gosford pressed hard for the equaliser, but some good goal keeping from Tyler and some nifty saves from the back line kept the score to 1-nil at the break.

After the break the game stepped up a gear, with East Gosford managing to score. From there it was a sea-saw affair, with both sides trying to break the deadlock, unfortunately for us, East Gosford scored against the run of play. That was the way it finished 2-1 down. Another loss, but I can honestly say this team is starting to gel together, and I look forward to the next game against Avoca.

GAME #1

VS UMINA
April 1, 2017

Well, a new season, a new team and a new Coach. Wyoming Under 9B1 team went up against Umina on Saturday morning, considering all the rain; I thought we were lucky to get onto the pitch.

Well I guess coming from the Coach’s point of view this week, the 9B1 has a number of fresh faces, including 5 first timers, so getting combinations and working as a team may take a number of weeks to develop.

Saying that, we managed to score twice, unfortunately Umina score more, but what I can take away from the game is a number of these first timers (including the person of the match, Gabriel) have all shown plenty of promise, and as the season progresses hopefully new combinations and team comradery will develop.
