SEASON WRAP

Led by debutant coach Erik , this team had a great showing in their trial games against Kincumber and Terrigal at Chertsey Public School. Veterans Oscar and Jassy paved the way for the new kids on the soccer block to ease into season.

After the season was postponed, the team restarted in Season 2.0 from where they left off. Focused training sessions were reflected on the pitch. Great goals from Ivy and Jassy in early games as a result of controlled dribbling and the odd goal assist from Oscar.

Big improvements across the field with Archer’s dribbling and evasion from the defensive half quite often resulting in achieving a great attacking position for his team and on one occasion a great solo effort finished off with a great left foot strike ending up in the net.

Daniel was solid in the mid field doing the tough work and more often than not winning the ball for his team and scoring some great goals and always putting his body in the way of attackers for some great defensive efforts.

Tough tackler Hudson also made great improvements and showing some great foot skills to come out with the ball despite plenty of attention from the opposition and on one of the hottest days in U6 football history scored a great goal.

Jassy’s long range dribbling was outstanding with her ability to block out the physical persistence of defenders resulted in a length of the field goal.

Kieran adopted the important role of a sweeping fullback and was always in the way of a through ball from the opposition but he didn’t stop there as he would often find one of his team mates with a pass.

Silky skills from Oscar meant he was always creating plenty of chances for himself and team from both his defensive and attacking half with some great left foot strikes finding the back of the net.

Like her female counterpart Ivy also displayed a great dribbling ability with some individual efforts and was always reading the play and lurking to nab some sneaky poachers goals.

A great season for these kids and their coach with all seven finding themselves on the goal scorers list. All players and parents had an enjoyable time all year and look forward to another excellent season in 2021. Go Tigers!!
